The front-end styling of EMD’s E6 set the proper notefor the streamlined consists which followed. The smoothflowing lines of these locomotives ushered in a new erafor railroading and formed a canvas for some of the mostdramatic paint schemes ever seen on American rails. Thetrains spoke of a world of new opportunities destinationsand prosperities to a society awakening from a GreatDepression and blissfully unaware of the troubles thatwould frame the decade to come.Lionel’s latest release of this landmark locomotive includessome of the most memorable paint schemes. Somehaven’t been run in decades and others are being shownfor the first time. We’re pairing up AA or AB sets of theseunits based on normal railroad operating practices. Bothunits in each pair are powered with smoke and lightingand you’ll have RailSounds in the lead A unit. For thefirst time we are also offering an additional scale pilotwhich can be mounted to the body of the lead unit ifthe ElectroCoupler is removed making these the mostbeautiful E’s we’ve ever offered! SuperBass B units are alsoavailable for each road (whether prototypical or not) forthose who’d like even more sounds.
